I have had a lifelong love affair with art and beasts. Being able to blend these two loves into a career as a fine artist is what I consider a dream livelihood. I grew up visiting the wilds of the Pacific NW under the tutelage of a Father who was a modern day Mountain Man, leading our family on adventures and teaching us a reverence for nature.
I honed my skills through personal training, workshops and plenty of brush mileage and have been a collectible animal artist for nearly 3 decades. Fun loving, bold, honest and energetic are the qualities I endeavor to bring to my compositions. My constant goal is to honor the animal I am painting in the manner it deserves; to elevate it's position beyond a mere critter into a spectacular creation of Mother Nature.
In recent years I have added a new element to my art, painting on aluminum and creating fused glass backdrops to frame the painting in a layered effect. These small works have enjoyed great success for their unique presentation and exciting brushwork. I paint exclusively in oils whether it is on canvas, linen or aluminum.

Quite often I am asked questions about my process. Here is a short video demonstrating a typical way I go about painting an animal.
