Mixed Media
These pieces highlight my love of experimentation. All are painted on cradle board beginning with an abstract acrylic background. I then do a clear acrylic pour, lending it a dimensional feel not easily seen in a photo. On top I paint exclusively in oils, sometimes adding touches of gold leaf. Very mesmerizing to view in person!
I am known strictly as an oil painter, yet I became intrigued with this process using both acrylics and oils. All are painted on birch cradle board with multiple layers, beginning with acrylics and ending with the animal in oil. With a pour in between the two they have a dimensional feel not visible in the photos.
