This was 1 of 4 sister wolves living at Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle that I photographed over the years. They have since passed on and a new pack has taken their place, but the white girls will forever be in my heart. White is one of my favorite colors to paint, because it is so reflective and contains so much color. The iciness of the background is a perfect foil to the warmth of the wolf's fur. Because of the endangerment this species faces I thought the title was perfect for this light and joyful piece of artwork.
